Prashaanth is a senior associate in our corporate department and his primary areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, employment and regulatory. He also has experience in advising clients in complex cross-border corporate reorganisation exercises and on data protection compliance, having previously worked in an in-house data protection team where he worked on the implementation of measures to comply with international data protection legislation.

His notable transactions / matters include:

  • M&A – Assisted the Nippon Paint Group with its acquisition of a Kazakhstan-incorporated entity, Alina Group. This complex cross-border M&A involved the drafting of transactional documentation, in-person negotiations and overseeing compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • M&A – Advised the founders of the Potatohead Group on the acquisition of a controlling stake in the Potatohead Group by a Singapore-based lifestyle group.
  • Capital Markets – Acted as Singapore counsel for Primech Holdings Limited, a Singapore-based facility maintenance management company listed on the NASDAQ, in relation to various corporate actions.
  • Capital Markets – Acted as Singapore counsel for Mega Fortris Berhad, a Malaysia-based security seals company, in relation to its listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
  • Capital Markets – Acted for Credit Bureau Asia Limited, one of the largest consumer and commercial credit information providers in the region, in its initial public offering on the SGX-ST Mainboard.
  • Employment – Advised a digital services group with a network of more than 140 countries and an investment bank on employment matters such as hiring, termination and employee compensation.
  • Employment – Advised a global personal care and beauty products brand on the termination of several senior executives overseeing regional operations.
  • Employment – Advised a global paint and coatings company on various employment matters, including the termination of various country executives and updating employment policies.
  • Financing – Assisted on a financing and refinancing matter for a leading UK-based growth capital company involving Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Financing – Acted as Singapore counsel for the Series B funding round led by e& capital, the venture investment arm of Etisalat, in Airalo, a market-leading eSIM store.
  • Regulatory – Assisted in preparing an investigatory report on a company listed on the SGX-ST Mainboard.
